The North American Congess on Latin America´s current bimonthly Report focuses on Colomian politics. The issue, entitled “Coercion Incorporated: Paramilitary Colombia,” examines the incorporation of paramilitary groups into Colombia´s body politic since the Uribe administration began demobilizing the AUC in 2002 and features articles by Jasmin Hristov, Lesley Gill, Mario Murillo, Garry Leech, and Lina [...] El Tiempo reported on 30 Jan. that homosexual common law unions in Colombia would now enjoy many of the same rights as heterosexual ones, including the extension of state health insurance to spouses of public employees.
